Job Summary

The University of Waterloo is seeking a highly skilled Immigration Consultant to join our team. As a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance to international students on immigration matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide timely and accurate immigration advice to international students on temporary residence applications, permanent residence, and other immigration-related matters.
  • Stay up-to-date with current and emerging immigration legislation, policies, and procedures to ensure accurate and informed advice.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to provide seamless and knowledgeable services to international students.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with academic advisors and their departments to provide academic and immigration support to international students.
  • Manage the University's reputation in all interactions with government entities, immigration officials, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant in good standing with the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in immigration consulting as an RCIC, or 5+ years of experience in immigration-related experience and direct experience working with international students at the post-secondary level.
  • Highly knowledgeable on the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA), Immigration Protection Regulations (IRPR), and other relevant immigration policies and procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to handle heavy caseloads, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
