Job Title: Immigration Consultant

At the University of Waterloo, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Immigration Consultant to join our team. As an Immigration Consultant, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance to international students on immigration matters, ensuring they have a smooth and successful experience at our institution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to international students on immigration matters, including visa applications, immigration regulations, and policies.
  • Assist students in understanding and navigating the complexities of immigration laws and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, universities, and other organizations.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in immigration laws, regulations, and policies, and provide guidance to students on how these changes may impact their immigration status.
  • Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to supporting international students.
Requirements:
  • Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) designation.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in immigration consulting, preferably in an academic or educational setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex immigration laws and regulations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
