Role SummaryWe are seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver, BC. As a Speech Language Pathologist with VCH, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing and treating a wide range of communication and swallowing disorders.
Responsibilities- Assess and treat clients with various communication and swallowing disorders
- Develop and implement effective treatment plans to address client needs
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care to clients
- Conduct evaluations and assessments to identify client strengths and areas for improvement
- Provide education and counseling to clients and their families on communication and swallowing strategies
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited university
- Current registration with the College of Speech and Hearing Professionals of British Columbia (CSHPBC)
- Two years of recent experience as a Speech Language Pathologist, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
You will bring:
- Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based practice and its application in speech-language pathology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Strong assessment and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective treatment plans
- The ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
