Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and welding custom metal projects, following all policies and procedures related to safety and work execution. This includes using required equipment, protective devices, or clothing, and being trained in the appropriate welding procedure and machine. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of welding principles and practices, and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate and weld custom metal projects
- Follow all CPF policies and procedures for safety and execution of work
- Use or wear required equipment, protective devices, or clothing
- Be trained in the appropriate welding procedure and on the appropriate welding machine
- Ensure weld procedures are present and followed at all times
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience as a welder (FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW)
- Successful completion of in-house testing
- Current CWB welding tickets considered an asset
- Some own tools (minimum required)
- Knowledge and experience in welding various positions and materials
- Proven time management skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Physical dexterity
- Safety conscious work habits
- Effective communication skills (both written & verbal)
- Accountability and ability to work in a team or with minimum supervision
- Willingness to work different shifts and extra hours as required
