We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Respiratory Therapist to join our team in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at BC Women's Hospital & Health Centre.
Job Summary:The Respiratory Therapist will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality patient care, assess and manage respiratory conditions, and develop and implement individualized care plans.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess and manage respiratory conditions in neonates and infants, including oxygen therapy, inhaled medications, and mechanical ventilation.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans, including respiratory care, nutrition, and developmental support.
- Provide education and support to patients and families on respiratory care and disease management.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to respiratory care.
- Successful completion of Level 1 of clinical placement from an accredited and recognized Respiratory Therapy Program and continued enrollment in a recognized education program.
- Certification in Basic Life Support or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
