Job Summary
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join their Pulmonary Diagnostics team at Vancouver General Hospital. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will provide high-quality respiratory care to patients, working independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care to patients, including pulmonary functions and technical procedures.
- Consult and collaborate with other healthcare providers to enhance patient care.
- Develop and implement plans of care in relation to patient priorities.
- Assess patient responses to care and respond appropriately.
- Work collaboratively as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program.
- Successful completion of the Health Professionals Testing Canada Credentialing Exam.
- One year's recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Broad knowledge of current respiratory theory and practice within a client-centered model for care.
- Broad knowledge of the BCSRT clinical practice guidelines.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and implement plans of care in relation to patient priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to assess patient responses to care and respond appropriately.
