Job Summary:

Lifemark Health Group is seeking a highly skilled Case Manager to join our team. As a Disability Case Manager, you will be responsible for managing a case load of disability claims for a large unionized organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a case load of disability claims, including reviewing medical information and communicating with employers, union representatives, and physicians.
  • Develop relationships with involved parties and provide expert advice to customers on a daily basis.
  • Plan and implement sound case management strategies with a focus on treatment and recovery and a goal to potential return to work.
  • Review accommodation requests and implement return to work plans.
  • Communicate claim decisions both verbally and in written correspondence to all stakeholders involved.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years disability claims experience.
  • Experience working with a carrier or other third party provider actively adjudicating disability claims.
  • Experience with non-occupational disability claims.
  • Experience adjudicating mental health and physical disability claims.
  • NIDMAR or other related professional designations would be an asset.
  • Excellent documentation and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with clients.
  • Must be detail oriented and organized with and an analytical thinker.
  • Demonstrated excellence in the decision-making process especially when under pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (French would be an asset).
