Job Title: Controller

IC Savings is a credit union that focuses on bringing the benefits of co-operative banking to its members. We are seeking a highly skilled Controller to oversee our accounting and financial reporting functions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct financial analysis and prepare various periodical reports, including financial statements and related notes for review by management.
  • Prepare and analyze a wide range of monthly reports, including regulatory reports to the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA).
  • Oversee accounts payable and ensure internal control and company standards are maintained and improved where necessary.
  • Reconcile registered products record with Central 1 and monitor credit unions' current accounts on a daily basis.
  • Provide training, guidance, and mentorship to direct reports and assist the CFO with organizing work activities of the team.
Requirements:
  • Minimum five (5) years of proven accounting experience, in a financial institution, with experience in credit union environment strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting or Business Administration is required.
  • Professional accounting/finance designation: (eg. CPA, CGA, CA, CMA) required.
  • Proven leadership experience with motivational skills as well as the ability to lead, coach and develop a team.
  • Experience working with regulators and external auditors required.
