Job Summary

  • Responsible for testing raw materials, in-processes, finished products, and stability samples.
  • Collaborate with the AD department to perform co-validation of analytical test methods.
  • Provide audited stability summary reports for submission.
  • Prepare and update stability schedules for various drug products.

Key Responsibilities

Under minimal supervision, perform analysis of raw materials, in-processes, finished products, and stability samples with high accuracy and precision using analytical instruments and established procedures.

Document results clearly in accordance with SOPs.

Provide statistical analysis on test results as required.

Organize work efficiently and utilize time effectively.

Communicate technical information clearly, both verbally and in written form.

Perform intermediate precision as part of method transfer under supervision.

Other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Technical Requirements

  • Sound working knowledge of UV-VIS spectrophotometer, Karl Fisher, Auto-titrator, HPLC, GC, IC, balances, vacuum oven, microscope, osmometer, density meter, Hunter scan, and Auto-actuation station.
  • Complex techniques as required.

Collaboration and Problem-Solving

  • Act as a key player within the team and assist senior chemists with difficult tasks.
  • Liaise regularly with internal customers to understand their needs and keep them informed of work progress.
  • Solve routine problems independently.
  • Identify complex problems and report them to senior-level staff for corrective action.

Leadership and Professional Development

  • Continually upgrade technical knowledge by attending seminars or taking relevant courses.

Compliance and Due Diligence

  • Perform all activities in compliance with SOPs, cGMP, and SHE policies.
  • Participate in reviewing department policies, procedures, and standards impacting their area as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in chemistry or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical analytical laboratory.
  • Laboratory computer skills.
  • Operational and good trouble-shooting skills related to analytical instruments.
  • Good knowledge of GMP, GLP, and WHMIS.
  • Good knowledge of Pharmaceutical compendia.
