We are seeking an experienced Industrial Operations Director to join our team in this critical role. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for directing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of our line assembly departments.
Job Summary
The successful candidate will have at least 10 years' experience in supervisory roles within fast-paced manufacturing environments. A post-secondary education in a related discipline, such as operations management, is required. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products and experience with Lean manufacturing are considered assets.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record of achieving safety goals, first-time quality, and on-time delivery. Experience working with unionized workforces is also an asset.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that all line assembly areas comply with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Lead Production Superintendents and Cell Leader teams to achieve safety goals, first-time quality, and on-time delivery.
- Manage capacity and adjust facility staffing and equipment levels to meet desired Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Develop and manage departmental expense budgets for all line assembly departments.
- Promote and develop labor relations with Bargaining Unit representatives to resolve issues promptly.
- Support negotiations of the collective bargaining agreement.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient and effective production.
- Develop and implement plans to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Schedule and coordinate production activities to maximize efficiency and building productivity.
- Maintain consistent communication with US finishing plant leadership to meet line entry schedule, delivery schedule, product quality, work-in-progress (WIP), and customer expectations.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements, including Quality, Environmental, Health, and Safety programs.
