Pool Safety Specialist

The City of Kamloops is seeking a skilled Lifeguard to join our team in a permanent on-call position. As a Lifeguard, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety of our community members by providing emergency response services in aquatic environments.
To be successful in this role, you must possess a strong passion for lifeguarding and community safety, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum age of 16 years, a current National Lifeguard (NL) Award - Pool Option, and a Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor Certificate.
Beyond the essential qualifications, we are looking for candidates with preferred qualifications such as CPR – C Certificate or equivalent, Lifesaving Instructor (LSI) Certificate, and BCRPA Aquatic Fitness certification. The selected candidate will be required to complete a police information check. This position receives 14% in lieu of all benefits, vacation, stat holidays, and health time.
