Job Title: Deputy Sheriff - Court Security

As a Deputy Sheriff - Court Security, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of court facilities and participants. This position requires a strong understanding of the justice system and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide security services within court facilities, including secure prisoner transport and perimeter screening.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies to mitigate potential threats to court participants and facilities.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with court staff, lawyers, and other stakeholders to ensure a smooth and secure court process.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in legislation, policies, and procedures related to court security.
Requirements:
  • Valid certificate in Standard First Aid/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Level C.
  • Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 driver's license.
  • Driver's abstract obtained within the previous three months demonstrating a safe and responsible driving record.
  • Successful completion of the Sheriff Officer Physical Abilities Test (SOPAT) within six minutes.
  • Satisfactory psychological assessment based on the Minnesota Multi-phasic Personality Inventory-2 (MMPI-2).
  • Satisfactory criminal records check in accordance with the Government of Saskatchewan Criminal Records Check Policy.
