Job Title: Deputy Sheriff

As a Deputy Sheriff with the Government of Saskatchewan, you will play a critical role in maintaining law and order within the courts of Saskatchewan. Your primary responsibility will be to provide security services to ensure a safe and secure environment for all users of court facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Secure prisoner transport and operation of detention areas within court facilities
  • Conduct perimeter screening in accordance with the Court Security Act, 2007
  • Maintain good order in all areas of court facilities and assess and manage threats to courts and court participants
  • Transport persons to and from court locations across the province
  • Ensure accurate documentation for persons being released and/or held in custody
Requirements:
  • Valid certificate in Standard First Aid/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Level C
  • Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 driver's license
  • Safe and responsible driving record
  • Successful completion of the Sheriff Officer Physical Abilities Test (SOPAT)
  • Satisfactory psychological assessment
  • Satisfactory criminal records check
