The salary for this position is estimated at $45,000 per annum, based on industry standards and the location of our office. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits including free parking, learning/training paid by employer, and a permanent work term with 35 hours per week.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience in bookkeeping and possess excellent organizational skills. Key responsibilities include:

  • Calculating and preparing cheques for payroll
  • Calculating fixed assets and depreciation
  • Maintaining general ledgers and financial statements
  • Posting journal entries
  • Preparing other statistical, financial and accounting reports
  • Preparing tax returns
  • Reconciling accounts
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in accounting or related field
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Access, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, MS Windows, MS Word, and Simply Accounting
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Fast-paced environment and tight deadlines
