About the Role

Southern Health-Santé Sud is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Proctor III to join our team. As an integral part of our Mental Health Program, this role provides essential services and supports to individuals experiencing multiple needs due to severe mental illness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide rehabilitation and recovery-oriented intervention to clients in their natural and chosen environment.
  • Exercise independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods, and action to be taken on unusual matters.
  • Collaborate with clients and Community Mental Health Workers to identify specific goals and activities for proctor involvement.
  • Function in a manner consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Southern Health-Santé Sud.
Qualifications
  • Grade 12 or GED equivalent, with additional educational training in the area of mental health.
  • One-year volunteer or work-related experience.
  • Understanding of Consumer Empowerment and Recovery principles.
  • Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population.
  • Proficiency in both official languages (English and French) is essential for target and designated bilingual positions.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job.
  • Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality.
  • Good work and attendance record.
Conditions of Employment
  • Requires a valid Class 5 driver's license, an all-purpose insured vehicle, and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.00.
