About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Architectural Coordinator to join our Ontario Land & Housing Product Development team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for reviewing preliminary design contract packages, attending coordination meetings with trades, and ensuring compliance with OBC regulations and Builder Standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze preliminary design contract packages for construction efficiencies and problematic details.
  • Attend coordination meetings with trades to discuss HVAC, floor, windows, electrical layouts, and exterior cladding.
  • Review working drawings against marketing brochures, trade meeting notes, schedule B, and contract packages.
  • Coordinate and back-check redline revisions with consultants.
  • Coordinate final truss, floor, and HVAC layouts with trades.
  • Coordinate model certification and permit packages.
  • Coordinate issue for construction package for site use during construction.
  • Review and coordinate Studio support documents, including data locations, window operator locations, and interior light fixture/switch locations.
  • Oversee digital and hard copy directories to ensure they are organized and up-to-date.
  • Monitor and track work to ensure working drawing packages are progressing on schedule.
  • Process print requests from office and site staff through a third-party plotting company.
  • Coordinate revisions per site changes during site walks or site feedback.
  • Support product development in our communities.
  • Monitor and track work to ensure all design development tasks are progressing on schedule.
  • Coordinate product development of new floor plans and elevations with consultants, ensuring Builder Standards are reflected accurately.
  • Create updated model type lists for Newstar setup.
  • Create and maintain schedule Z site maps for each community.
  • Coordinate Architecture marketing collateral contributions for printed inserts and digital platforms.
  • Assist in developing exterior colour packages (ECP) for each community.
  • Oversee ECP approvals with the Control Architect.
  • Assist the marketing agency in developing ECP boards prior to sales opening.
  • Review and approve Newstar ECP selections with architectural control guidelines.
  • Coordinate internal meetings with department representatives during the product development stage.
  • Liaise with Municipalities on application concerns/questions.

Requirements

  • College Diploma or technical certificate in a related technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years in the residential homebuilding industry is an asset.
  • 2+ years' prior project coordination experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, including working drawings and engineering documents.
  • Working knowledge of design guidelines and experience in conceptual design.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam.
