Land Development Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated Land Development Engineer to join our team in Ottawa, ON. As a key member of our design team, you will play a crucial role in creating new high-quality communities and site developments.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will possess a strong desire to create innovative solutions for land development projects. You will work closely with our team to prepare preliminary and detailed grading and servicing design drawings, formulate earthwork quantity analysis and soil management processes, and prepare complete submission packages.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare preliminary and detailed grading and servicing design drawings for Subdivision, Commercial, and Institutional land development projects
- Formulate earthwork quantity analysis and soil management processes (erosion and sediment control)
- Prepare complete submission packages, supporting calculations, cost estimates, project schedules, and other duties
- Collect field data to support engineering and water resources projects
- Provide design ideas and solutions and perform preliminary quality control of construction documents
- Assist with construction site inspections and meetings
- Assist with resolution of technical issues on construction sites
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must have a minimum of 1 year experience in a design or contract admin role within a land development or construction environment. A graduate degree from a recognized institution in Civil Technology/Civil Engineering or a related field is preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:- A comprehensive working knowledge and experience with Civil 3D
- Familiarity with subdivision, site plan, and/or municipal engineering drawings
- Knowledge of the local geographic area and area municipality design standards is an asset
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Map and GIS is an asset
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel is an asset
This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $85,000 per annum, depending on experience.
