Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and test cable signals and associated equipment to ensure optimal communication quality.
  • Install, maintain, and repair aerial and underground telephone equipment, including cables, power suppliers, and amplifiers.
  • Read blueprints to determine work requirements and plan efficient installations.
  • Repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers, and amplifiers to minimize downtime.
  • Climb and work aloft on poles, ladders, or other support structures to install and maintain equipment.
  • Connect, disconnect, and relocate cable outlets as needed.
  • Determine work assignments and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Install cable modems and software to enable Internet access for customers.
  • Maintain and repair aerial and underground transmission systems to ensure reliable communication.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in digital communication.
  • Ability to climb and work aloft on poles, ladders, or other support structures.
  • Knowledge of cable signals, telephone equipment, and transmission systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
