Salary

We offer a competitive salary of $19.00 per hour, with opportunities for overtime pay.

Job Description

This role involves ensuring safety is a priority to self, fellow workers, the general public and the assets of the company and following policies and procedures set out by the company. This includes various loading and unloading of heavy materials such as tools and equipment, shoveling rocks and dirt for manual grading of surfaces and clearing ballasts, and removal of tie plates from the rail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure safety is a priority to self, fellow workers, the general public and the assets of the company and follow policies and procedures set out by the company
  • Load and unload heavy materials such as tools and equipment
  • Shovel rocks and dirt for manual grading of surfaces and clearing ballasts
  • Clear railway crossings of brush and tall grass using handheld tools and equipment
  • Remove tie plates from the rail
  • Snow removal from, crossings, and right aways using shovels, backpack blowers, brooms etc.
Requirements
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Hold a full, valid class 5 driver's license
  • Be willing to undergo pre-employment testing including a criminal record check, drug, alcohol, and fitness fit-for-duty testing, as a condition of employment
  • Be physically able to do repetitive bending, standing for long periods of time, carry up to 50lbs unassisted, repetitive swinging motions, walking on uneven surfaces (approx. 3 miles/day)
