Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager-Civil Engineer to join our team in our Medicine Hat office. The successful candidate will utilize their technical and management expertise to deliver a variety of water conveyance and other infrastructure projects.

Main Responsibilities
  • Health and Safety: Apply and promote Englobe's health and safety rules to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Project Management: Prepare and review reports, proposals, expressions of interest, design drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Team Leadership: Oversee a multi-discipline design and construction team on projects, providing leadership, team building, and mentoring of junior staff members.
  • Business Development: Develop business with existing and potential clients, as well as partnering opportunities with other firms to expand MPE's business market.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure applicable standards, quality assurance, and quality control procedures are followed during the design process.
  • Cost Management: Prepare and oversee cost management of engineering and construction budgets.
  • Design and Construction: Coordinate design and construction tasks of multi-discipline teams, reinforcing the development of standards related to civil engineering drawings.
  • Relationship Building: Successfully develop relationships with engineers, technologists, technicians, and construction personnel.
  • Client Communication: Meet with clients regarding projects, progress reporting, and the resolution of technical issues, when required.
Requirements
  • Professional Engineer designation in Alberta (APEGA) or Professional Technologist designation through ASET.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in the field of Civil Engineering and 1-year additional experience in Project Management.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Must be responsive and self-driven.
