We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Farm Supervisor to join our team at Sandhills Seed Potatoes Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our farm, ensuring the efficient production of high-quality crops.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement farm plans to prioritize tasks and achieve production goals.
- Level and grade soil to ensure optimal crop growth and quality.
- Mix and apply fertilizers to promote healthy crop development.
- Supervise farm workers and ensure they follow established safety and bio-security protocols.
- Coordinate and oversee the work of general farm workers and harvesting laborers.
- Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed at all times.
- Maintain quality control and production records to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Supervise and oversee growing and other crop-related operations.
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment to ensure optimal efficiency and productivity.
- Perform general farm duties as required.
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and will be required to work in a physically demanding role. The ability to work well under pressure and maintain attention to detail is essential.
Requirements- 2-3 years of experience in a farm or agricultural setting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate farm machinery and equipment.
