About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Farm Supervisor to join our team at Sandhills Seed Potatoes Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our farm, ensuring the efficient and safe production of high-quality potatoes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement plans to prioritize tasks and ensure the smooth operation of the farm
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications and maintain quality control records
  • Mix and apply fertilizers as required
  • Oversee the activities of clearing the fields and ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed
  • Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures
  • Provide agricultural crop services such as plowing, irrigating, cultivating, spraying, or harvesting
  • Co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers
  • Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed and maintain quality control records
  • Supervise and oversee growing and other crop-related operations
  • Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
  • Perform general farm duties
Requirements
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Physically demanding work in a rural area
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain quality control records
  • Organized and able to prioritize tasks
  • Team player with excellent communication skills
