Job Title: Talend Developer

At Axelon Canada, we are seeking a highly skilled Talend Developer to join our team. As a Talend Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing data integration workflows using Talend Studio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Estimate and execute required changes, coordinating with stakeholders as needed
  • Develop, maintain, and support multiple applications or frameworks
  • Translate high-level business requirements into detailed functional, technical, and/or system specifications
  • Test software designs and solutions, including unit testing and integrated testing
  • Build and maintain automated test suites for applications
  • Support and respond to user queries or issues, determining the root cause and best resolution of escalated issues

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
  • At least 5+ years of hands-on application development using ETL tools like Talend
  • Perform data profiling, cleansing, and validation to ensure data accuracy and quality
  • Optimize Talend job performance and scalability, considering large volumes of data
  • Hands-on development experience with Java 8+, Python, shell scripting
  • Experience in the development of service-oriented architecture applications, with a good understanding of Object-Oriented Design and Design Patterns
  • Solid understanding of DB concepts and working with relational databases (DB2, Sybase, or other)
  • A strong understanding of SDLC principles and experience delivering in Agile/Scrum
  • Strong analytical and design skills, including the ability to understand business requirements and translate them into efficient and effective technical designs

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of Financial services
  • Experience with Angular and/or other modern frameworks
  • Knowledge of Informatica
  • Experience with Data visualization tools and reporting tools
  • Experience with Cloud-based tools and technologies
  • UI Design experience, specifically for web applications
  • Unix OS, Scripting, Python, or Perl
  • Proficient in DevOps tooling and practices
