Mechanical Engineer for Railway Signaling Installation

About the Role

Alstom is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in the installation design of railway signaling systems. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing and executing installation engineering activities in support of bid/projects, ensuring delivery and quality of documentation in compliance with M&U signaling strategies, and applying EHS policies, local regulations, and professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and execute installation engineering activities, including drawings, documentation, specifications, and work method statements, in support of bid/projects.
  • Ensure deliverables are prepared in accordance with project execution requirements, including customer, installation subcontractor, and local regulation.
  • Support the field team to understand and review deliverables, prepare design modifications or change requests following inputs from site.
  • Review civil interface drawings and provide signaling equipment requirements for space allocation and applicable cable trunking.
  • Prepare installation material specifications and installation bill of quantities.
  • Support the project installation manager, site operations manager, and field operation manager during the preparation of the field quality dossier for handover.
  • Prepare as-built documentation and ensure conformity with as-installed configuration.
  • Liaise with BIM coordinators and BIM modelers to coordinate common installation engineering studies and deliverables.
  • Ensure application of digital and integrated systems installation and field operations process for installation engineering activities.

Requirements

  • Engineer degree level or equivalent education or experience.
  • Certification on Autocad and/or other design tools.
  • P. Eng certification or in progress.
  • Good experience on railway site management.
  • Knowledge of railway products and services knowledge on different market segments (urban, mainline, F&M).
  • 2+ years of experience in design, drafting, or engineering (project and/or construction experience appreciated).
  • EHS background.
  • Minimum knowledge of BIM procedures and tools.
