About the Role

The Burnaby School District - SD41 is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Secondary School Leader to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping the educational experience of our students.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Leadership and Management: Provide strategic leadership and management to ensure the effective operation of the school, including supervision of teaching and support staff, and compliance with Ministry of Education regulations, policies, and guidelines.
  2. Student and Staff Support: Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive school culture that promotes academic excellence, social development, and overall student well-being. Provide guidance and support to students, staff, and parents by addressing academic, behavioral, and social concerns.
  3. Community Engagement: Work collaboratively with parents, professionals, and community service agencies to promote positive relationships and understanding. Lead, guide, and embed equity practices and Indigenous perspectives in school goals to promote diversity, inclusion, and cultural safety.

Qualifications and Requirements

  1. Education: Possess or be enrolled in a Master's degree in Supervision of Instruction, Program & Curriculum Development, or Administration, or a related field.
  2. Experience: Demonstrate a proven track record of promoting and implementing equity, diversity, inclusion, and reconciliation initiatives within a school or district community.
  3. Skills: Possess excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
