Application Architecture Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Application Architecture Technologist to join our team at the Government of Saskatchewan. As an Application Architecture Technologist, you will play a key role in ensuring the suite of applications used by our organization is scalable, reliable, available, and manageable.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with senior managers to determine business-specific application needs and advise senior executives on all aspects of applications support and lifecycle management.
* Elicit, analyze, specify, and validate the growth, enhancement, and maintenance-related business needs of stakeholders while collaborating with cross-functional teams and vendors.
* Create and maintain documentation surrounding the application architecture, application design processes, component integration, testing guidelines, and other key elements.
* Act as an ambassador between tech departments and business-side units.
* Plan and manage a portfolio of application services aligned to client accounts with the support of the technical/operational/delivery support teams.
* Present roadmaps and plans to the application development and solutions architecture team and supervise the design, testing, and modification stages.
* Document application development processes, procedures, and standards.
* Integrate trends in application architecture into application development projects while maintaining superior knowledge of IT technology landscape.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in computer science with a specialization in software engineering, application development, or similar.
* 3+ years of IT application development and management experience.
* TOGAF or other Enterprise Architecture certification is an advantage.
* Between 2 and 8 years' experience as an Architectural Technologist, with at least 2-3 years of experience from North America.
* Be currently living and able to work permanently in Canada.
* Experience in IT due diligence, divisional, and organizational integration relating to operations and IT.
* Some Project management experience is desirable but not essential.
* Technical education and hands-on experience across all major areas of the software development process as well as infrastructure expertise and ITSM.
* Architecture experience and security knowledge is appreciated.
* Excellent communication skills, desire to learn and grow.
* Strong self-awareness skills and political agility.
