Job Summary

Northern Health Authority is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at the Dawson Creek & District Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity for a registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to work in a dynamic environment and highlight their knowledge, skills, and abilities.

As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with Northern Health, you will perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures and related duties in collaboration with radiologists, cardiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals. You will also have the opportunity to teach clients and others both one-on-one and in groups.

About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and dedicated Diagnostic Medical Sonographer who can integrate best practice and current research evidence to support professional practice decisions and actions. The ideal candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, the public, medical staff, and the interdisciplinary team using oral, written, and computer communication means. They will also have the ability to organize work, set objectives, and establish priorities while managing time and resources effectively.

Required Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a graduate of a recognized/accredited North American Program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (Ultrasonography). You will also need to have current certification with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and/or Canadian Association of Registered Diagnostic Ultrasound Professionals (CARDUP) as required for the assigned practice area. Active membership in good standing with ARDMS and/or Canadian Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (CSDMS) is also required.
