Quality Control Laboratory Specialist

Nitta Gelatin, a renowned manufacturing company based in Toronto, Canada, is seeking an Analytical Technician to join its Quality Control team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for obtaining production samples and conducting a wide range of tests utilizing a methodical and analytical approach. This crucial testing ensures the production of safe quality products for customers and meets or exceeds their expectations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Laboratory: Perform all standard test procedures in both physical and microbiological laboratories for finished product.
- Maintain proper record keeping and data entry.
- Maintain various inventory of lab supplies.
- Follows all safety regulations and GMPs/GLPs.
- Prepare media and stock supplies for routine laboratory testing.
- Maintain an orderly and clean laboratory and communal work area.
- Calibrate, verify and operate testing instrumentation in a safe and professional manner.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities with high degree of accuracy.
- GMP and HACCP tasks.
- Production Support: Perform quality or process control related projects.
- Effectively works and communicates with other members of the Quality Assurance team.
- Other: May be required to occasionally work longer than scheduled hours for time in-lieu compensation.
- Available to work holidays as well as Saturday and/or Sundays.
- Must follow food and safety regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
To succeed in this role, you will require:
- A minimum of 2 years of previous laboratory experience in manufacturing or educational setting.
You must have one of the following:
- An Associate's Degree in Analytical Chemistry, Food Science, Microbiology or other relevant science concentration.
- A College Certificate in Chemical, Biochemical or Chemical Engineering Technology.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Experience working with specialized equipment.
- Inspection and testing; Analyzing Information; Processing Information; Report Writing.
- Ability to maintain proper lab documentation and reports.
This full-time position offers a competitive salary of $45,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, as well as excellent benefits, including:
