Halifax Regional Municipality is seeking a dedicated Occupational Health Practitioner to join our Employee Wellbeing team within Human Resources.

As an integral part of our commitment to fostering a healthy and safe work environment, the Occupational Health Practitioner will play a vital role in promoting employee well-being and supporting their return to work following absences.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategies that enhance work connectedness across all business units within Halifax Regional Municipality.
  • Collaborate with management teams, union representatives, HR personnel, and Health Specialists to ensure a comprehensive approach to employee health and safety.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees regarding workplace health concerns, return-to-work plans, and injury prevention.
  • Stay abreast of current best practices and regulations related to occupational health and safety.
Your Skills and Qualifications:

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a strong understanding of occupational health principles and practices.

  • Proven experience in an occupational health role within a similar organization.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of labour relations principles and collective agreement administration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant health and safety software.
