Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Perfusionist to join our team at the University Health Network. As a Clinical Perfusionist, you will be responsible for providing circulatory support and homeostasis to patients requiring cardiopulmonary bypass in cardiac and non-cardiac procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and optimize circulatory support and homeostasis of patients requiring cardiopulmonary bypass.
  • Assemble, operate, and monitor myocardial preservation during CPB.
  • Access the needs of patients and independently respond to and deliver appropriate therapies.
  • Provide additional therapeutic services such as administering medical gases, anesthetics, drugs, blood products, and crystalloid solutions.
Requirements
  • At minimum, completion of a BSc degree with a diploma in Cardiovascular Perfusion.
  • Certification (or eligibility of certification) with the Canadian Society of Clinical Perfusion (CSCP) or American Board of Clinical Perfusion (ABCP).
  • Thorough knowledge of the theory and practice procedures, instruments, equipment, and special techniques.
  • Specialized knowledge of extracorporeal physiology and mechanics (both adult and pediatric) required.
