We are seeking a skilled Insulation Assistant to join our team at Black Gold Insulation Ltd. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the installation of thermal and sound insulation in various construction sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Load, Unload, and Transport Construction Materials: Safely transport materials to construction sites, ensuring they are in good condition and ready for use.
  • Erect and Dismantle Concrete Forms and Scaffolding: Assist in setting up and taking down concrete forms and scaffolding to ensure a stable working environment.
  • Mix, Pour, and Spread Materials: Assist in the mixing, pouring, and spreading of materials such as concrete and asphalt to complete construction tasks.
  • Clean and Pile Salvaged Materials: Collect and organize salvaged materials, ensuring they are clean and ready for reuse.
  • Clean Up Chemical Spills and Other Contaminants: Respond to chemical spills and other contaminants, taking necessary precautions to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Remove Rubble and Other Debris: Clear construction sites of rubble and debris, ensuring a safe and clean working environment.
  • Tend to Machines and Equipment: Assist in the operation and maintenance of construction equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:

  • Handling Heavy Loads: Be able to lift and move heavy loads, up to 23 kg (50 lbs), as required by the job.

Support for Newcomers and Refugees:

  • Language Support: Provide language support for newcomers and refugees, helping them to adapt to their new work environment.
  • Cultural Training: Participate in cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and refugees.

Support for Indigenous People:

  • Mentorship: Offer mentorship and coaching opportunities to Indigenous workers, helping them to succeed in their roles.
  • Cultural Awareness Training: Participate in cultural awareness training to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
