The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Resource Pool team at the IWK Health Centre. As a Resource Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Reporting to the Manager, Emergency Care, you will be accountable for the application of current theory and research in the delivery of family-centered patient care. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide care to patients in various care areas, including the Emergency Department, Hematology, Oncology, Nephrology, Medical Surgical Neurosciences Unit, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, and Pediatric Medical Unit.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to children and families in a variety of care settings
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Participate in unit-specific orientations and training programs to ensure proficiency in care areas
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a safe and supportive work environment
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing and currently registered or eligible to become registered with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing
  • Minimum one year experience in pediatric nursing required
  • Emergency, Critical care nursing experience is an asset
  • Current successful completion of a Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada Basic Life Support Level (BLS) Program within the last 12 months, or successful completion of a BLS Renewal Challenge Certificate, required
