Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our Maintenance Team at the Ekati mine site in Canada's Northwest Territories. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient maintenance of all heavy-duty equipment on site.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in heavy equipment maintenance and repair, with a focus on safety, quality, and accuracy. You will work closely with our team to ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and that our operations run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including inspections, preventive maintenance, and field repairs.
  • Implement and maintain contamination control strategies, including fluid monitoring and filtration procedures.
  • Collaborate with other trades to achieve best-in-class efficiency and productivity.
  • Mentor and train employees, tradespeople, and trainees to ensure a high level of technical expertise.
  • Adhere to all company safety protocols and Occupational Health & Safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Certified Journeyperson Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience with mining equipment and a strong understanding of heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Working knowledge of SAP and basic computer literacy.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing roles and priorities.
  • Class 5 driver's license required.
