About the Role

We are seeking an Occupational Therapy Specialist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. This is a long-term full-time position, offering 75 hours biweekly, with a salary range of $33.97 - $42.89 hourly.

Job Summary

The Occupational Therapy Specialist will work under the supervision of the Health Services Manager, collaborating with clients, caregivers, and families to facilitate optimal function in areas such as self-care, productivity, and leisure. Key responsibilities include consultation, assessment, treatment, evaluation, and follow-up, both within the hospital and community settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and multidisciplinary teams
  • Conduct functional assessments and write reports to inform client care
  • Provide education and support to clients, families, and caregivers on occupational therapy principles and practices
  • Maintain current certification in CPR and adhere to professional standards and policies of the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia
Requirements
  • Graduate of a C.A.O.T recognized School of Occupational Therapy
  • Licensed with the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia (COTNS)
  • Minimum two years of relevant experience in occupational therapy
  • Certification in Assessment of Motor and Process Skills (AMPS) an asset
