Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Bartender to join our team at The Joneses, a trendy restaurant and bar in downtown Toronto. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, preparing and serving drinks, and maintaining a clean and welcoming bar environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve drinks to guests, including cocktails, wine, and beer
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to guest inquiries and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Maintain a clean and organized bar environment, including restocking supplies and cleaning equipment
  • Work effectively as part of a team to ensure seamless service and high-quality guest experience
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of our menu, including drinks, food, and specials
  • Upsell and promote our menu items and drinks to guests
  • Manage cash and credit transactions accurately and efficiently
  • Perform opening and closing duties, including counting tills and balancing cash
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to improve skills and knowledge

Requirements

  • SmartServe certification
  • Proven experience as a bartender for at least 6 months
  • Enrolled or completed a Hospitality, Food & Beverage, and/or Special Events program is an asset
  • Wine, beer, and cocktail knowledge is required
  • WSET certification preferred but not required
  • Passion for food, beverage, and providing excellent customer service
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift and move beer kegs, liquor, and wine boxes
  • Full availability
