The OpportunityWe are looking for a seasoned Senior Interior Designer to manage the interior design direction on several concurrent projects and provide project leadership. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for developing innovative design concepts, preparing presentation materials, and working closely with clients to deliver high-quality design solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the interior design direction on multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
- Develop and present design concepts, working closely with clients to understand their needs and preferences.
- Prepare and coordinate project schematic/conceptual designs, layouts, and space plans.
- Collaborate with technical and contract administration staff to produce successful design development and contract documentation.
- Work with authorities having jurisdiction to interpret and conform to codes and bylaws.
- Coordinate and/or undertake the selection and specification of furniture systems, fixtures, and equipment.
- Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to intermediate and junior staff.
- Stay up-to-date with innovative and forward-thinking design, including research on materials and products.
- Diploma or Degree in Interior Design.
- NCIDQ certification is preferred.
- 10 to 15 years of interior design experience.
- Strong knowledge of current industry trends, local industry manufacturers, and representation.
- Ability to prepare and complete a comprehensive interior design construction set of drawings.
- Advanced design awareness and knowledge of interior design principles and elements.
- Advanced understanding of construction and construction administration process.
- Knowledge of applicable building codes and bylaws.
- Permit application knowledge.
- Strong knowledge and proficiency in graphics software (Revit, AutoCAD, Sketch-up, Adobe Suite).
- Excellent graphic presentation and design layout skills.
- Excellent communication, time management, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
- Ability to present to, and negotiate with clients.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead projects with minimal supervision.
