About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Interior Designer to lead our design team in Calgary. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the interior design direction on multiple projects, providing project leadership, and mentoring junior designers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the interior design direction on multiple projects, ensuring high-quality design solutions that meet client needs and project budgets.
  • Provide project leadership, including creating work plans, drawing lists, and staffing requirements.
  • Mentor and coach junior designers, providing guidance and support to help them grow in their careers.
  • Assist with business development, including presenting to clients and developing new business opportunities.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, products, and technologies, applying this knowledge to deliver innovative design solutions.

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in Interior Design.
  • NCIDQ certification is preferred.
  • 10 to 15 years of interior design experience, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality design solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of current industry trends, local industry manufacturers, and representation.
  • Ability to prepare and complete a comprehensive interior design construction set of drawings.
  • Advanced design awareness and knowledge of interior design principles and elements.
  • Advanced understanding of construction and construction administration process.
  • Knowledge of applicable building codes and by-laws.
  • Permit application knowledge.
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency in graphics software (Revit, AutoCAD, Sketch-up, Adobe Suite).
  • Excellent graphic presentation and design layout skills.
  • Excellent communication, time management, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
  • Ability to present to, and negotiate with clients.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead projects with minimal supervision.
