About the Position:

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to join our team as a Counsellor for Men Impacted by Family Violence. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual case management to address complex client needs, collaboratively setting SMART goals in partnership with the client.
  • Facilitate trauma-informed group sessions such as Caring Dads, co-led with the support worker, to promote shared learning, peer support, and empowerment.
  • Develop and implement individualized safety plans, working alongside the support worker to ensure follow-through and practical implementation.
  • Offer therapeutic interventions using evidence-based modalities such as DBT, CBT, ACT, Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) required.
  • Active registration with an appropriate regulatory body.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in case management and supportive counselling, particularly with individuals impacted by family violence.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the dynamics of family violence and trauma-informed practices.
