About the Role:

Sovereign Insurance is seeking a highly experienced Associate Vice President (AVP) of Commercial Solutions to lead our dynamic senior leadership team in the Canadian Western Regions. This visionary leader will inspire and drive success by providing strategic leadership for Sovereign's Mid-Market Commercial insurance business in the Manufacturing, Construction, Transportation, and Energy sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute business plans and budgets, monitoring and analyzing results to ensure achievement of financial and business goals.
  • Lead and deliver broker-focused products and services, including training regional staff on company products and services, and managing the achievement of company service and quality standards.
  • Manage broker relationships to achieve volume objectives while maintaining a profitable book of business, and build positive relationships within the insurance industry to promote Sovereign Insurance.
  • Understand regulatory risk and influence compliant business processes and controls in day-to-day operations, setting the tone and fostering ongoing communication with key stakeholders.
  • Lead and engage your team to deliver strategic objectives through effective coaching and mentoring, identifying and developing emerging talent, and fostering an innovative, collaborative, and agile culture.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of progressive insurance industry experience, including in-depth experience in the Commercial Mid-Market space.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
  • CIP designation an asset.
  • Proven track record as a successful commercial insurance leader with expertise in Manufacturing, Construction, Transportation, and Energy segment commercial lines within the broker distribution channel.
  • Experience leading a team(s) to build a strong broker distribution portfolio.
  • Ability to build strategic plans and lead teams to solve complex problems and achieve delivery targets in an engaged, collaborative environment.

Expected Salary Range: $135,000 -- $225,000
