Job Summary:
The North West Company is seeking an Optical Assistant to support our optical operations in Iqaluit, Nunavut. As an Optical Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our optical center.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail for patient records and scheduling.
- Assist with preparation and pretest procedures to ensure a seamless patient experience.
- Support patients with frame selections and provide guidance on eyewear options.
- Perform adjustments and repairs of frames to ensure optimal fit and comfort.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain a high level of patient satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain strong computer skills to effectively utilize our optical operating system.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and management to ensure seamless operations.
Requirements:
- Certificate or diploma in an optical-related program is an asset.
- Previous experience in medical office, general office, or retail is an asset.
- Strong verbal communication skills and ability to provide superior customer service.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and Electronic Medical Records.
- Above-average oral and written communication skills.
- Preference given to bilingual-Inuktitut.
