Job Title: Excavator Operator

Description: Thompson Bros. (CONSTR.) LP is seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join their team in Fort McMurray, AB.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate excavators for loading trucks, trenching, ditching, sloping, and other tasks.
  • Conduct pre-operational equipment inspections to ensure safe operation.
  • Understand and follow supervisor instructions for work area assignments.
  • Identify and mitigate ground disturbance risks.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Participate in safety and culture-building programs.
  • Perform work in accordance with Thompson Bros. (CONSTR.) LP safe work practices.
  • Report incidents, near-misses, and equipment damage to site supervision.
  • Ability to identify hazards and maintain a safe work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in similar work is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License is necessary.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to work in the Fort McMurray area and live in remote camps while working a rotational schedule.
  • CSTS 09, OSSA Regional Orientation, BSO, or CSO Certification is required.
  • Ground Disturbance, H2S Alive, and First Aid certifications are considered assets.
  • Must be in good physical health to perform duties.
  • Must pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test.
