Job Summary:

H. Wilson Industries (2010) Ltd. is seeking a skilled Mainline Excavator Operator to join our team in Western Canada. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for operating a mainline excavator to dig trenches and crane material for various types of underground utilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a mainline excavator and other heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on equipment.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and clean, lubricate, and refuel as necessary.
  • Ensure trenches are excavated safely to the proper depth/grade.
  • Understand and interpret directions from supervisors regarding required work areas.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred.
  • Class 5 Driver's License with a clean Driver's Abstract (as per Company policy) preferred.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in the underground utility construction industry.
  • Water and Sewer experience.
  • Valid Ground Disturbance Certificate.

Work Environment:

  • Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which may include inclement weather, heat, and humidity.
  • Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 20 LBS on a regular basis.
  • Must comply with the Company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.
  • Possible out-of-town and weekend work as required.
