The Mechanical Superintendent is responsible for coordinating all activities on site and supervising all field personnel as required to successfully complete the project on schedule and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:- Site Coordination: Supervise and coordinate daily work activities for multiple job sites.
- Project Support: Assist Project Managers, Coordinators, Field Operations Manager and the Vice President, Operations with daily management activities.
- Subtrade Coordination: Coordinate work activities with subtrades.
- Client Communication: Coordinate work activities with clients.
- Team Management: Oversee, manage, and coordinate Assistant Site Superintendents and Construction Assistants.
- Site Meetings: Attend site meetings.
- Cost Management: Assist with managing and controlling costs for the project related to sub-contractors, suppliers, and manpower.
- Manpower Tracking: Track daily, weekly, and monthly manpower.
- Safety Compliance: Complete required safety paperwork daily.
- Financial Responsibility: Be fiscally responsible for the finances for the project.
- Project Schedule: Monitor project schedule and manpower for delays.
- Installation Compliance: Ensure compliance of the installation with the specifications for all trades.
- Quality Assurance: Work with the Foreman/Sub Trades to complete the job on time, budget and to high quality standards.
- Crew Support: Be available for, and check up on, crews who are working weekends or after hours by means of phone call, site visits etc.
- Request for Information: Submit request for information to Project Managers when required by the foreman or unclear documentation.
- Deficiency Correction: Ensure deficiencies are corrected as soon as possible for all trades.
- Client Relationships: Develop relationships with our clients for future business.
- Site Safety: Ensure sites are safe and owner property/valuables are protected from damage.
- Site Cleanliness: Ensure sites are clean and tidy at the end of each shift.
- Compliance Enforcement: Enforce staff and subtrade compliance with company policies, owner policies, Ontario Health and Safety Act and other legal requirements.
- Task Completion: Assist on site by providing labor to complete task/projects as required.
- Project Closure: Assist and push to ensure projects are closed out and fully completed as fast as possible.
