Job Title: Water / Flood Technician

At BELFOR, we are seeking a highly skilled Water / Flood Technician to join our team. As a key member of our emergency response and restoration team, you will play a critical role in supporting our customers and insurance partners during times of crisis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement water remediation procedures consistent with the IICRC S500 Standard.
  • Provide water pumping and extraction services, as well as mold remediation, moving and re-setting contents, selective demolition, debris disposal, and setting drying equipment.
  • Conduct moisture mapping of affected areas, including temperature, relative humidity, and MC moisture content readings.
  • Participate in vehicle safety and maintenance inspections, ensure vehicle cleanliness and restocking, and construct polyethylene enclosures.
  • Practice good housekeeping and maintain equipment to ensure a safe and non-cluttered worksite.
  • Provide excellent customer service and work under time constraints to meet specific timelines.
  • Ensure attention to detail and safeguard other people's property and information.
  • Participate in and demonstrate an understanding of safety principles and practices, following all safety policies and procedures.
  • Comply with all BELFOR policies and procedures, as well as legislative requirements.
  • Proactively communicate job site conditions and concerns to the appropriate person.
Requirements:
  • IICRC certification for Water Restoration Technician (WRT) required.
  • IICRC certification for Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (AMRT) an asset.
  • 2+ years industry-related experience, Construction / Restoration / Insurance preferred.
  • Familiarity with chemical products, including use, disposal, and Safety Data Sheets.
  • Comprehensive understanding of customer service principles and practices.
  • Eligible to operate a motor vehicle per BELFOR's vehicle policy.
  • Ability to work within a team or independently as needed.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer and/or Tablet / iPad experience.
  • Willingness to work evenings, on call, and weekends when requested.
  • Periodic travel may be required.
Physical Demands:
  • Frequent lifting from 5-40 lbs, unassisted (from 35-65% of the time).
  • Occasional lifting from 41 lbs +, assisted (up to 50% of the time).
  • Access and mobility in tight spaces.
  • Fit Testing – half and full face mask as needed, annual certification required.
  • Working at Heights - over 5 feet, periodically.
