Drywall Specialist

Chandigarh Construction Inc. is seeking a skilled Drywall Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for installing and finishing drywall to ensure a smooth and durable surface for our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate with other workers to ensure timely completion of drywall installation projects
- Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints to achieve a smooth finish
- Clean and prepare surfaces for drywall installation, including walls, ceilings, and floors
- Cure freshly plastered surfaces to ensure durability and longevity
- Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using a trowel and broad knife
- Finish corners and angles, and create decorative designs in the finish coat, if required
- Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets to ensure a precise fit
- Mix plaster ingredients to the desired consistency for a strong and durable finish
- Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices, and trim to add a touch of elegance to our projects
- Spray acoustic or texture materials over walls and ceilings to enhance sound quality and aesthetics
- Attach metal or gypsum lath to studs or furring to provide a solid base for drywall installation
- Cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts, and electrical outlets
- Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation to ensure a comfortable and energy-efficient environment
- Prepare wall and ceiling layouts to ensure accurate drywall installation
- Operate CADD and other computer software systems to design and plan drywall installation projects
- College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year
- 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in drywall installation
- Permanent employment
- English as the primary language of work
- 35 hours per week
