Job Summary

Chandigarh Construction Inc. is seeking a skilled Drywall Installer to join our team. As a Drywall Installer, you will be responsible for installing drywall sheets, applying successive coats of compound, and sanding seams and joints. You will also supervise other workers, clean and prepare surfaces, and perform various other tasks related to drywall installation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Finishing
    • Measure, cut, fit, and install drywall sheets
    • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints
    • Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in finish coat, if required
  • Preparation and Cleaning
    • Clean and prepare surfaces
    • Cure freshly plastered surfaces
    • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes, and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife
  • Supervision and Operations
    • Supervise other workers
    • Operate CADD and other computer software systems
    • Prepare wall and ceiling layouts
  • Insulation and Barrier Installation
    • Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation
    • Attach metal or gypsum lath to studs or furring
    • Cut openings in lath for heating and ventilation piping, ducts, and electrical outlets
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year
  • Work Language: English
  • Hours: 35 hours per week
