Job Title: Senior Project Manager

Our client, a leading enterprise company, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to lead a transformational project that will roll out new initiatives nationally across their stores. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the project from initiation to closure, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with business leads to create project charters and define project scope
  • Agree on critical success factors with stakeholders to deliver projects on time, on budget, and within agreed-upon scope, quality, and user/store-centric focus
  • Build activities or work packages by sequence and duration, defining roles and responsibilities
  • Establish realistic deadlines, build a change management and communication plan, and manage project financial status through day-to-day cost tracking
  • Define success and manage milestone deliverables as scheduled, controlling deadlines with clear and straightforward plans
  • Update project-related documentation, status reports, and stakeholder management throughout the project lifecycle
  • Provide regular, clear, and concise visibility to project status, including key decisions, dependencies, issues, risks, and metrics
  • Manage and escalate project issues and key decision points, facilitating solutions to technical, functional, process, and business problems
  • Effectively manage third-party vendors against agreements and ensure delivery of vendor solutions is acceptable to all stakeholders
  • Be open to new ways of achieving results, with resistance to change that could impact project timelines, through strong negotiation and influencing skills
Requirements:
  • Minimum 8+ years' experience as a project manager, managing complex multi-faceted cross-functional programs
  • Experience working in grocery retail, real estate, merchandising, store operations, and managing national projects
  • Strong process management and controls to minimize risks exposure
  • Experience in budget management and reforecasting to support annual planning and lead monthly reforecasting for project budgets
  • Extensive experience with traditional and innovative project management processes, techniques, tools across agile, waterfall, iterative methods associated tools
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office, specifically MS Excel, and MS Project
  • Sound organizational, analytical, judgement, and decision-making skills with proven abilities in problem-solving
  • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for the development of strategy, guidelines, policies, standards, and best practices
  • Knowledge of large ERP systems (i.e. SAP) is preferred
  • University undergraduate degree in a related discipline or equivalent is an asset
  • PMP or PgMP (nice to have) designation
  • MBA (nice to have)
  • Bilingualism in English and French is an asset
Work Environment:

This role is a hybrid, with 2 days in the office. The ideal location is Ontario GTA, but other major city locations in Canada with customer locations are possible.
