Clinical Therapist Position

The Clinical Therapist is a key member of the Adult Service team in Mental Health and Addictions. This role involves providing assessment and planning, treatment and intervention, and crisis management for clients. The Clinical Therapist will carry out general duties of the Adult Service team while participating in quality initiatives, engaging in collaborative person-centred care, and utilizing available information technology to support best practice.
About YouWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in a clinical health-related discipline, current registration with a relevant provincial regulatory body, and demonstrated knowledge and understanding of standard criteria used for the classification and diagnosis of mental health disorders.
The successful candidate will have experience in providing individual and group evidence-informed therapies based on care plans to clients with mental illness, substance use disorders, and/or concurrent disorders. They will also have demonstrated knowledge and skills in collaborating with families in relation to sharing information and implementing family-sensitive services that involve families in the care and recovery of people living with mental illness and addiction.
The Clinical Therapist will be responsible for crisis intervention, suicide, and violence risk assessment/intervention, as well as non-violent crisis intervention and suicide risk assessment. They will also have demonstrated awareness of community resources and programs, excellent problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
The ideal candidate will have high-level written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, experience with conflict resolution, and the ability to work effectively in multiple software applications. They will also have demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently with limited supervision, and participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
Competencies in other languages are an asset, with French being preferred. The successful candidate will have two years of related clinical experience, including assessment and planning, treatment and intervention, and discharge planning. If not available, candidates with less than two years' experience may be considered for the selection process.
HoursThis is a full-time long-assignment position, with approximately 75 bi-weekly hours. The term is approximately one year, with dates subject to change.
Compensation and BenefitsThe salary for this position is $37.31 - $49.05 hourly, with the possibility of a defined benefit pension plan and other benefits for permanent and long-assignment employees.
