Wood\u2019s Homes is seeking a dedicated and passionate Indigenous Wellness Navigator to join our team.

About the Role:

The Indigenous Wellness Navigator will play a vital role in supporting the healing journeys of children, families, and communities. This position requires a strong understanding of Indigenous cultural practices and a commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide cultural support and guidance to children, families, and communities.
  • Develop and implement culturally sensitive programs and services.
  • Collaborate with clinical and front-line staff to provide a culturally responsible therapeutic milieu.
  • Support the development and presentation of agency-wide trainings and teachings.
  • Ensure documentation of practice-based knowledge through various mediums.

Qualifications:

  • Self-identifies as an Indigenous person.
  • Has lived experience and cultural knowledge of multiple nations.
  • Appreciates cultural differences between nations and promotes good relations within multiple communities.
  • Comfortable speaking in front of people and sharing positive messages and benefits of connecting to culture.
  • Has ability to connect and support Elders, Knowledge Keepers during ceremonies, and other cultural related engagements.

Education and Experience:

  • Diploma/Undergraduate Degree in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Nursing, or other relevant Social Sciences.
  • Minimum of two years related experience.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Class 5 driver's license and own transportation.
  • Criminal Record Check and Intervention Record Check required upon hire.
