Our core programming includes continuing education, online, and blended learning opportunities, providing accessible educational experiences within Alberta and beyond. We are passionate about the Agriculture industry and proud to be Canada's Smart Agriculture College, specializing in agriculture, agrifood, horticulture, land, and environmental stewardship.
We work closely with industry partners to advance and adapt our programming, ensuring our graduates possess the skills to succeed. Our applied research and integrated learning initiatives enable us to stay at the forefront of industry trends.
Job OpportunityOlds College is seeking students to work as peer tutors in the Learning Commons (library) in all subject areas during the academic year. This position is available to students currently enrolled in Olds College programming.
Responsibilities- Meet with students to assist with their learning and understanding of course content, concepts, and comprehension.
- Provide one-on-one or small group tutoring, as required.
- Complete reporting and data collection regarding tutoring hours.
- Schedule tutoring sessions based on student availability, including day and/or evening hours.
- Demonstrated mastery in a subject area or course.
- Recommendation from an instructor.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office and Google suite of apps.
- Ability to work as a member of a team.
- Training provided.
- Technology and connectivity for virtual tutoring.
- Act ethically, openly, honestly, and respectfully to build and maintain a safe and inclusive environment.
- Collaborate with instructors and other staff members as needed.
